Our website provides information about our school, adult day services, employment services, assistive technology, and other programs and activities.

Submitting an inquiry or application does not guarantee admission, eligibility, employment, or services. Participation is governed by applicable program requirements and separate agreements.

Our SMS program provides service and operational communications to people who opt in, including parents, families, adult participants, authorized representatives, district contacts, and staff.

Depending on your program and signup preferences, messages may include responses to inquiries, enrollment follow-ups, appointment reminders, school and program events, newsletter notifications, transportation updates, staff coordination, schedule changes, weather delays, closures, and emergency notices.

Consent

You enroll in SMS communications by providing your mobile number and affirmatively opting in through an optional SMS consent checkbox on a designated form or another documented opt-in method. You must be authorized to use the number you provide.

Merely supplying a telephone number, enrolling in a program, appearing on an imported contact list, or accepting these website terms does not enroll you in recurring texts. Sending us an inquiry by text does not by itself subscribe you to ongoing announcements.

Consent is optional and is not a condition of enrollment, services, employment, or purchase. Contact your program office to arrange another method for necessary communications if you decline or stop texts.

Messages will be consistent with the scope of your consent. Marketing texts require separate consent.

 

Frequency and Charges

Messages may be recurring and may be sent individually, in bulk, or through automated systems. Frequency varies based on program activity, your preferences, and your communications with us.

Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan.

Opting Out

For our two-way SMS service, reply STOP to opt out of further texts from that sending number. A final opt-out confirmation may be sent.

To stop all Light House SMS communications, or to manage preferences for announcement-only messages, email info@lhcampus.com or call 860-445-7626. Identify the mobile number and the communications you want stopped.

You may withdraw consent at any time. We will honor your request in accordance with applicable requirements and will not use another sending number to circumvent an opt-out.

Assistance

Reply HELP for assistance with our two-way SMS service. HELP requests are received as messages for staff to answer and may not receive an immediate response.

Delivery and Emergency Communications

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on mobile network availability and other factors. Please notify us if your number changes.

SMS is not monitored continuously and should not be used to request emergency assistance. Call 911 for an immediate emergency and contact your program office directly for urgent program matters.

Text messages are an additional notification channel, and delivery of emergency notices cannot be guaranteed.

Confidential Information

This SMS program is intended for general communications. We do not use it to send confidential individual student or participant information.

​

Do not send medical records, IEPs, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information by text. Contact us for an appropriate method of sharing it.

SMS Privacy

Mobile numbers, SMS consent records, and opt-in information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Messaging providers may process information solely to deliver and support our communications. Legally required disclosures may also occur.

Use the website lawfully. Do not access restricted information without authorization, disrupt operations, introduce harmful software, or submit fraudulent information. Only submit information about another person when authorized. We may restrict website access to address misuse or protect security.

Website text, photographs, logos, and other materials belong to The Light House or are used with permission unless otherwise indicated.
